Equine Assisted Learning & Psychotherapy
Thank you for your donations. The War Horse Project is an equine-assisted psychotherapy program intended for Canadian Forces members, Veterans, First Responders and Corrections Officers who have been adversely affected by trauma. This program has provided lasting and measurable benefits not achieved with conventional therapies alone.

The Story behind the Picture The Story behind the Picture
This War Veteran loved Mocha. Sadly, a tragic freak accident suddenly took her life, which gave Pierre an opportunity to examine how loss/grief impacted his PTSD diagnosis and how to find meaning again.
YO HORSE! PROGRAM

YO Horse! Program
The YO Horse! program provides support, therapeutic intervention, and physical activity through a 12-week Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT) program. Young offenders and their families can develop skills in psychological resilience, self regulation, and anger management through their interaction with horses.

One of the most compelling components of Equine Assisted Therapy is the opportunity to form positive bonds and attachments. The horse responds to participants - without judgement - and provides opportunities to discover self, regulation, and then can build meaningful relationships. Attachment is essential to empower young offenders in building healthy and functional relationships based on trust, respect, and understanding ... essential elements to healing.
